Why basketball

The reasons for we invite you to join us in this project is very simple. So, why basketball? Why basketball in Cluj?

Because

• it is students' sport
• it is the sport which brought the most national titles for Cluj (13 in women, 3 in men)
• it is the sport which made Cluj known in Europe since the middle of '80s through successful campaigns of women and men teams in European cups
• it has a huge fan-base, the games are watched by thousands
• it has given to Romanian national teams dozens of players and coaches, and also made Cluj world-renown when Gheorghe Muresan was drafted in the NBA; he is still the only Romanian player who has played in professional North-American championship
• it shows positive role-models for hundreds of children present at each game and offers a healthy lifestyle as an alternative for night life, vice, spending the time in front of TV/ computer in detriment of body exercise and desire of real competition
• it is the indoor team sport watched by the greatest number of fans, media, advertisers and social campaigns.
